About ten years ago, I needed a new watch, and I received this one as a gift for a personal milestone. It was returned to the jeweler twice while still under its three-year warranty, and once again afterwards.

We were told that the watch model had been recalled for a short circuit. The only problem was, each time it was repaired, the manufacturer failed to fix it. The watch goes through cadmium batteries like water.

The watch is beautiful, and I love it. It's mounted to a lovely hand made sterling silver Navajo watch band purchased in Canyon de Chelly.

Alas, it doesn't run, and there's not much point in having it repaired again. The repairs last about as long as the batteries--not very.
