I bought this watch before a trip to Cozumel in 2009. I had read that you shouldn't wear shiny jewelry in the water because larger predator fish could possibly attack the shiny object. Case in point: a young woman (wrists covered in jewelry) nearly lost a finger just south of Cozumel Carribe on the west coast of Cozumel while we were there. It was a barracuda attack. I thought the story was bogus until I ran into her and her dreadlock boyfriend. Ten minutes after speaking with the young lady I was in the water solo and face to face with what appeared to be a 5 ft. long cuda. I didn't wait to measure, and got the hell out of the water. That said, I was in the water every day for a week with that watch on. The watch itself is heavy. I really liked the weight! It felt substantial and rugged to me. In that time I had NO problems whatsoever with the watch. I owned the watch for just over two years when a dirt bag walked into my unlocked house in the middle of the night and stole the watch along with several other items. Note: DO NOT LEAVE OBJECTS OF VALUE ON KITCHEN TABLE. Thieves know this is where we tend to drop off our valuables at the end of the work day. I would love to buy another but it's not in the budget right now. However, I am looking at a slightly cheaper stainless steel Momentum watch in the future. You will not be disappointed.
