This Invicta Men's 0108 II Collection Howlite Stone Dial SS Watch arrived today and I was floored by how nice looking it is in person! I think the photos I saw online here at amazon.com couldn't capture the elegant starkness of this watch. The details it does have are very much appreciated and executed marvelously! Yes, it has a simple, non-cluttered dial---& that makes the light-grey veining of the genuine Howlite watch-face so much more intriguing. The stone has the look of Carrera marble.

One reason I thought I'd give this 0108 a try is that I have quite a few LARGE BLACK Ion-plated Invictas. I wanted a Swiss Quartz movement watch to wear that was large and stainless steel but with a slimmer profile (case height) and had knurled stainless machining on it somewhere. (I've kinda blown my budget on higher-priced Invicta Reserve timepieces this year, already, but I LOVE the look of the I. Capsule and the Stainless Steel Venom!) This 0108 was a cool affordable alternative. The large screw-down crown has knurled pattern around it and on the center sections of the watch band and last-lug section between the band brackets. The brushed finish of the band and case front is really sharp-looking! It has a polished finish on the sides and on the end of the crown. Like my other Invictas, the watch band was simple for me to remove extra links and resize it for my wrist myself. The dial seems really big when the watch is on (but, I think it is just 47mm)---the white probably makes it seem bigger! Another reason might be because the uni-directional black bezel is rather narrow and visually just makes the white dial pop. I picked up this watch new with tags online for $69.00. The suggested retail tag that came with the watch said $795.00. While I would certainly NOT pay THAT MUCH, I would say this watch is worth a solid $275-$300.00 range. I think this is a great looking, comfortable to wear watch (with good heft!) that fit the bill exactly for what I was looking for.
