Boss Orange Sport LCD Watch very sporty Review

This Boss Orange digital watch is very nicely made (In China) with a beefy brushed stainless-steel case (approx. 43.5 mm diameter). The black ring around the face is handsome matte-finished plastic. It has time, date, and second functions and the watch can be set to stay on time, or switch back-and-forth between time and date. When I bought this watch, the photos I found online seemed to indicate the time read out was white, like the classy digital displays in some cars. Actually the numbers are a silvery-gray color that doesn't have as much contrast against the black background as white would. Before buying this watch I hadn't owned a digital watch since the 1980s, and that was a Casio. That old Casio had button that you pressed to turn on a little light behind the LCD that allowed you to read the display at night; no such luxury with this much more expensive modern watch. The band is a very attractive black canvas-style cloth with orange stitch detailing (the inside surface of the band is orange leather). The bad part about the band is its propensity to collect lint during normal wear. The black "Boss Orange" lettering on the face is very subtle, but the orange logo is very visible if that sort of thing matters to you. The orange control button is bare plastic...my eye says it should be painted so it matches the face logo. Also, the watch is simple to figure out. This is good since the instructions are completely useless and do not describe anything related to Boss Orange digital watches! Comes in a nice presentation/gift box. My feelings are mixed on this watch. I really like its size and overall appearance. It feels good on my wrist. I'm not so happy with the lint-magnet band, and the watch desperately needs that old Casio's little light so you can read the stupid thing in the dark. I'd say this watch is fine in concept, but not so great in execution.
