TW Steel Men's TW 672 RF1 Team Pilot Black Leather Chronograph Dial Watch Review

I recently started collecting watches and, as a long-time F1 fan, having seen this watch in car magazines, was eager to add it to my collection. When the price dropped significantly from the $425 list price, I bought it. I must say I am a bit disappointed. While it IS quite attractive (on my large-ish 7.5" circum. wrist), it does not seem to me very well made (compared to other watches I own, e.g., Tissot). The crown does not screw down (I dare you to take it to its 5atm. rating!), the movement, crono buttons and crown have no "feel" to them, and it is so light for it's size that it must not have much of a thick case or solid movement in it. I also think the crono function is strange: it has only second and minute tming (ironically, one could not use it to time any F1 races!), and a seemingly redundant "24 hr" dial that moves with the main movement. Also, when you press the start/stop button to take a split time, it does not "click" or otherwise react to let you know that you have registered the time. I am left wondering how long this watch movement will last. The packaging, as with many watches at this price-point is, I think, "over-kill", and I am sure it adds needlessly to the overall price; the "steel" box that it comes in looks ok, but feels thin, like something you might find in a "Dollar Store". Finally, though this 45mm case watch fits my wrist fine, I'm glad I did not buy the TW 673 model with the 48mm case; that is HUGE and I am not sure who that would look good on (maybe an NFL lineman!).
