This watch has a large, solid & trendy look and that's about where the positives end, unfortunately. The blue colored band looks lighter/brighter in sunny daylight. Pic is accurate for such lighting.
The hour and minute hands turn clockwise.
The GMT hand also turns clockwise but only one revolution per day.
The GMT hand is adjusted by the main crown at the #1 detent position.
The main crown is a screw-down crown which spins free at the #0 detent, adjusts date & GMT hand at #1 detent and adjusts the time at the #2 detent (fully out).
The Flame-fusion crystal (mineral glass with upper layer of saphire), is very flat & provides wide viewing angles.
Now for the negatives:
1. Heavy (167 grams) bulky and uncomfortable.
2. The black ion-plated, knurled stainless steel crown has a squarish edge which digs into the back of your palm when you bend your hand back.
3. You have to cinch the watch down tight to your wrist and the polyurethane rubber band doesn't breathe, so sweatiness ensues. (daily washing a must).
4. The upper left crown does not "screw down" as the Invicta catalog claims. Neither does it lock.
5. The outer ring does not stay aligned where you want it to, because of the non-locking upper left crown.
6. The punched thru numerals on the outer ring are too small for many people to read quickly AND they are in a BACKWARDS order.
7. The day-of-month feature is super tiny and impossible to read without a magnifying glass. It's deeply recessed, lost in shadow and the window itself is improperly under-sized.
8. There are no familiar index markings to tell hours and minutes and the punched through numerals of the inner GMT ring are even smaller and less readable than the outer rotating ring.
9. The Tritnite painted on lume pretty much only allows you to tell where the minute hand is located for a couple hours after dark. You will not be telling accurate time in the dark with this watch.
10. The Flame-Fusion crystal slightly protrudes above the Bezel which means that it's totally unprotected.
11. The crystal is very flat which means that it reflects light almost like a mirror and will give your position away to enemies miles away. NOT MILITARY!
12. The top-heaviness of this watch makes it want to slide down and around to the underside of your wrist. It doesn't stay in place.
If you only want this watch for daytime use and/or style/swag purposes then go ahead, but the practical functionality simply isn't there.
This watch may say "Coalition Forces, Field Tested" on back but no sane military person is gonna wear this into battle or on-duty because you need to spend half a minute staring at it to decipher the time and you still won't be sure that you've got it right. Most soldiers, pilots, special ops guys etc, wear Casio G-Shocks because they feel confident that the watch will keep working no matter the shocks, vibrations, impacts, submersions and so on. If you're a member of the armed forces and you're caught dead wearing this watch, it will be no surprise.
This is a fashion watch! You will pay for your fashionability with discomfort. Do NOT buy this watch if actually "telling time" is important to you.
