I'm giving this a high rating for its "just out of the box" appeal - but it seems to be a very solid, quality timepiece. Everything about it has a solid, well-made feel to it. I'm replacing a "Swiss Army" watch that I paid a lot more for (many - 10? - years ago) and which I've liked a great deal. This watch - a PULSAR "Istanbul" - seems even more well-made (again, at the out of the box stage :)). I've worn it only a couple of days, so the band hasn't settled in yet - but I expect that with a quality band. It's stiff to start, but is starting to conform to me arm.
(Spending more on a watch has paid off in a longer lasting instrument. I think the extra money is more than paid back in longevity - I'd otherwise have had to buy a lot more watches in the past ten years than the one I've purchased).
I chose this particular watch because it seemed a lot less cluttered than other styles I was considering (from Pulsar and other vendors). I wanted a chronograph function - to measure minutes elapsed during exercise - but without the intrusive features many of these watches have. It had a clean look in the pictures, and actually looks even better in person (so to speak). It's not a small watch, but not as large as some of the newer models. I wouldn't describe it as thin, nor compact, but I knew that from the dimensions (comparing these to other watches shown on Amazon with more specific graphics about size).
I should mention that the outer ring doesn't turn - it's fixed, measuring elapsed time in minutes/seconds and 10ths of a second is a function of the inner dials.
The fun was in the delivery - and I mean that honestly. It was mailed in Spain and arrived at my local US Postal Service post office and required a signature. An admonition "the user is responsible for all taxes and duties" sent me to a Homeland Security site on Harmonized tariffs & trade to look up what I might be in for. It had a Los Correos tracking number - unfortunately those don't expose the status of international shipments.
In the end there was no tax or tariff due, it was apparently all pre-paid - nothing was due on delivery other than a signature. It also arrived just shy of two weeks after my order/shipping confirmation. It was worth it - it's truly different than the more distinctly American style watches, and that's what I wanted. :)
