Orient Men's WV0411ER Jumbo Oval Face Watch Review

I've had my eye on getting an Orient watch for a few months now. I took a risk with this one because generally oval watches are made smaller more in women's sizes. However, it was clear this model is more in line with men's watches, so I took a chance. As it turns out it's a great watch. The model I got actually has a vibrant purple color on the face, although the picture here shows a more reddish color. I was pleased that the automatic movement in this watch has the same sub-second sweep that the the other Orient automatic watches have, even though the second hand itself is a very wide triangle, it appears to glide smoothly around the central 'cone' hub. You can make out the days of the month under the translucent face, and there is a tiny window that shows you the jewel used for the spring escapement mechanism.

The watch does not have a display back. The watch band is made of a leathery material that is perhaps just a little small - for my wrist I have to use the last hole in order for the watch to not be too tight.

Overall, I am very pleased with this watch, as it is a conversation starter and built to the high standards I would expect all Orient watches are subject to.
