Got this for surfing, I can see how it can be used for fishing etc :)

PROS:
- Stainless steel bezel, dark, lightweight however definitely rugged stile, somewhat classy with the black interface - DEFINITELY THE CLASSIEST SURFER WATCH OUT THERE :)
- Unibody design - 1 piece body with bracelet, hopefully more durable.
- 100m depth, can be used for diving
- 2 times zones, 2 locations (each location does have it's own tide info)
- 500 global locations, however you can enter your own custom location
- Timer - 24hrs - easy to set your reminders for tide or surf times.
- Sunrise & sunset times
- Digital compass is awesome for hiking/biking in the woods...
- Rubber band is wide and 3mm thick, comfortable, easy to get used to.
- 5 yr warranty (in theory)

CONS:
- Dark interface is NOT visible in dusk or at night, must use light.
- Buttons are quit hard to press, especially to use light at night.
- No indicator of HOME screen, so you can be in "Future Tide" screen and think you're looking at the clock when you're looking at the time of the next high/low tide
- Switching between 2 locations is painful, quick press gives you a moment of preview, have to press for 2 sec to actually switch... however it's not straight forward.
- Sunrise/sunset times are NOT customizable (however only off by 5 min at most). Interesting since you can customize the tide info but not the sunrise
- manual in the box did not have have instructions for this model, have to look it up online. The manual actually includes instructions for multiple models, why not just have a PDF for THIS PARTICULAR model????
Another thing: the manual booklet online is NOT in PDF format, it's a browser plugin that allows you to view it (click on the page to zoom in, otherwise it's unreadable - more pain??? TO DOWNLOAD IT IN PDF FORMAT YOU HAVE TO REGISTER ON THAT 3RD PARTY PLUGIN PROVIDER FOR SOME REASON ...
- rubber band is wide and 3mm thick, LARGE & BULKY watch and the band.
- Warranty 5yrs movement, 2yr for leaking, 1yr battery - At the store I was notified I must send the watch to Manufacture for battery replacement or I'll void the warranty. This is an Australian company, and based on my prior experience with other overseas shipments the mail there and back will take at least 3 weeks.

BUG FOUND: Custom name for a custom location does not get saved, in fact gets mixed in display with the pre-programmed location you set. EXPLANATION: if your location is not on the list, you can enter an offset and setup a custom location. The way it works is you first pick a closest location, then enter an offset for it, then give it a custom name. In my case, both of the locations I use are custom. So I find closest pre-programmed locations for both, then change my 1st location to custom with an offset. When I changed my 2nd location to custom with a 0 offset, I experienced the location name mix up bug. When I entered an offset for the 2nd location, the watch worked properly.

I have small wrists and being spoiled by slick/light watches, so I'm getting used to something this large .. however it's light enough to forget about it..

Note to manufacture: in case you read this, there is a severe shortage of slick surfer watches. Maybe a light sacrifice can be made in the thickness of the case towards the lower depth :)
